Brent Richardson, Guitar

Bay Area native, Brent Richardson, has played various styles including rock, bluegrass and country, while always enjoying the study of jazz. Favorite album is Count Basie’s “Chairman of the Board”. Co-founded the Urban Indigo Quartet.

Chris Reece, Bass

I started playing electric bass in 1970 at the age of 19. When I moved to California in 1974 I bought an acoustic bass and have played that instrument since. My interest was in the blues, but it quickly turned to jazz. I have played with many fine musicians throughout the bay area and have been gigging on a part time basis since 1999.

Cedric Jensen, Drums

Cedric Jensen, a life-long professional drummer, has passionately devoted himself to a life of jazz. He spent two years in the United States Army playing drums with the 36th Army Band at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Cedric then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended Berkeley College of Music, studying with noted jazz drummer and educator, Alan Dawson, as well as the highly-acclaimed New England percussionist, Fred Buda. After four years in Boston, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the Richie Caruso Big Band and during this time also toured with Cab Calloway.

Upon returning to the East Coast as a free-lance drummer in the New York City/Philadelphia Metropolitan area, he performed at NYC’s famous Village Vanguard and other noted venues with Richie Cole’s Alto Madness, and NYC’s JazzMobile tour with the great saxophonist, Cecil Payne. Spending 30 years in Trenton, NJ, and leading his own group, The Cedric Jensen Jazz Quartet, every Tuesday and Saturday at Joe’s

Mill Hill Saloon, he performed with a variety of jazz musicians, including Marshall Hawkins, Bruce Foreman, Peter Barshay within Richie Cole’s Alto Madness, Tal Farlow, Curtis Bahn, Woody Shaw, Hank Mobley, Johnny Coates, Jr., and Latin/Jazz award- winning flutist, Andrea Brachfeld.

Based in the Bay Area for the past ten years, Cedric has performed with many great Bay Area musicians, some of which include guitarists: Terrence Brewer, Brent Richardson, Calvin Keys, Chris Planas; harmonist, Carlos Zialcita; pianists: Muziki Robeson, Pete Engelheart; bassists: Chris Amberger, Joe McKinley, Chris Reece, Ben Luis; and the late tenor saxophonist, Vince Wallace and organist, Otis Riley.

In addition to having mastered a variety of jazz styles, including straight-ahead, swing, bebop, Bossa Nova, fusion, and avant garde, Cedric also offers solid “chops” playing blues and R&B. His performing repertoire is near limitless, bringing a truly unique sonic experience to every “gig” he plays.
