Adrian West Band

Adrian West will play a set of original acoustic rock songs on voice and guitar, as well as some covers. His catchy original songs have been compared to Paul Simon, Allen Toussaint, Talkingheads and Nelly McKay, artists seldom mentioned in the same sentence. Born and raised in Montreal, Adrian sings in an uplifting, almost child-like voice and often uses "live looping" to add layers of sound and intrigue to his songs. He's not afraid to tackle difficult topics in his songwriting; Safe Streets tells an allegory about police violence, Close Your Eyes laments the beauty bias that pervades in the mass media, while Senses implores that you enjoy your senses while you can. Songs about love, nature, social justice, hope and whimsy.

This will be a solo (or possibly duo) set which will also include some covers by Paul Simon, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan, Joe Jackson, Billy Joel, Elton John.  (When playing as a full band, the Adrian West Band features vocal harmonies, guitar, electric violin, bass, drums, sax and live "looping”.)
